Zachary Weaver

Publishing Director

Zachary started his writing career as young as six years old while writing stapled-together notebook stories about Spyro the Dragon and hand-drawing their front covers. Not long after, one of his poems was selected for print in a collection at eight years old and his first attempt at a novel was finished at eleven years old. With writing being a core part of his life through elementary school, the concept of Sorrow began in middle school during the height of vampire fiction. Wanting to do something completely different from the existing and popular works of that time, Sorrow was started, which evolved until his sophomore year of college when it was released in April of 2017 as part of “The Sorrows Trilogy,” the predecessor to the current series, The Legacy of Sorrow.

After the release of Affliction in 2021, work on Desolation began and encountered problems during production regarding length and the overall scale of the series. The decision was made in 2022 to re-launch the books as a four-part series entitled The Legacy of Sorrow, with the first book (Sorrow) undergoing extensive rewrites to enhance its quality and treating the rest of the series to a rebranding and a new design. The rebranding expanded with a new publisher, growing to include merchandise, custom and commissioned artwork, an Official Fandom Wiki (community partnership), comic books, and more that brought the Sorrowverse closer to reality.

Today, Zach is working intently on Pathfinder Media Group while continuing to collaborate with PMG partners on artwork, layouts, comics, and much more.

JD McLucas

Deputy Publishing Director/Webmaster

JD McLucas is one of the two authors of the Sagas of Odenseye (along with Ryan McGuire). He is responsible for the entirety of the applied writing on the books, as well as a substantial amount of worldbuilding and storycrafting. He began writing for the first time in 2008, working on crudely crafted fanfictions of his favorite game, Club Penguin. Eventually, he shifted his attention to planning and writing a variety of Star Wars-related fan projects. A few years later, he began to play Star Wars: the Old Republic, where he first was introduced to Ryan McGuire. The two became friends quickly, and eventually started planning a joint fan story in the Star Wars universe entitled Gathering Shadows. Focusing on a Sith Lord named Malice and a Jedi named Obris, the story would eventually be scrapped and its characters reworked into what would become the Sagas of Odenseye.

In 2015, JD joined the 501st Legion, a global group of Star Wars costumers who use their immaculate cosplay in support of various charities and community events. There, he met Zachary Weaver, author of the Legacy of Sorrow series. JD left the 501st in 2018, falling out of contact with Zach, but eventually reached back out for assistance with Odenseye in 2022. The two became close friends very quickly, and began to work on Pathfinder Media Group, an entity dedicated to helping others navigate the wild and confusing world of media without the risk of being taken advantage of by a large company. He serves as the Deputy Publishing Director and Webmaster of PMG.

These days, JD lives in Columbia, South Carolina with his family and cats (Tali, Tovarishchi and Wedge). Diagnosed with Autism in 2019, he seeks to continue learning about himself, the effects of the disorder, and what he can do to help others in similar situations. He is also hard at work on multiple books, including a yet-to-be-revealed noir series and the continuation of the Sagas of Odenseye.
